Jama'atul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya’s ameer Md Anisur Rahman, who was arrested from Munshiganj early Monday, went to Bandarban in 2020 for training and developed good relation with KNF members, according to RAB.
Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of RAB’s legal and Media Wing, revealed the information while briefing the media on Monday in Dhaka’s Karwan Bazar after the arrest of three suspected militants including Ansiur.
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Monday said they have arrested three members of Jama'atul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya, including its Ameer Md Anisur Rahman from Munshiganj's Louhajang upazila early today.
The two other operatives are Kazi Siraj Uddin alias Siraj, 34, son of Kazi Nur Uddin of Patuakhali district and Mahfuzur Rahman Bijoy alias Babul, 28, son of Abdul Hafiz of Sylhet's Jagannathpur upazila.
Tipped off, a RAB team conducted a drive in Boronopara village in Louhajang upazila around 3 am and arrested the three men, he added.

During the drive, the RAB team also recovered local and foreign firearms, bomb-making equipment, pamphlets, and cash from the Jama'atul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya operatives, Commander Moin said.
During preliminary interrogation, the RAB officials came to know that Anisur went to Bandarban for training purposes in 2020, he said.
During his stay in Bandarban , Anisur met members of the Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) and developed good relation with KNF chief Nathan Bom and second in command Bangchung, Khandaker Moin said.

At that time, Mainul Islam alias Roxy was the Ameer of the militant outfit, when Roxy was arrested by the law enforcement agencies, Anisur Rahman was made new Ameer of the organization.
Later in 2021, an agreement was signed between Anisur and KNF to provide armed training to members of Jama'atul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya in Bandarban's deep hilly areas, said the RAB official.
