The Minister came up with the remarks while attending a seminar of the Horticulture Export Development Foundation at the Agriculture Research Council auditorium on Tuesday.
The government has taken an initiative to build the packhouse and accreditation laboratory in a short time as it will raise the prospect of exporting fruits and vegetables to Europe and the Middle East 'tremendously', he said.
Bangladesh has been exporting fruits and vegetables to many countries including European Union and the demands are increasing with time, he added.
“The agriculture is marching towards mechanization and commerciality, it must be modernized and we should expand the international market of agriculture,” he said.
The main problem is packaging and lack of globally acceptable certification, which will be resolved by the packhouse and accreditation laboratory dedicated to the purpose, Razzaque said.
