Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her younger sister Sheikh Rehana and family members paid a visit to places of memories with their mother at Dighalia upazila of the district on Friday.
Premier Hasina, accompanied by others, on a personal trip, went to the upazila from Gopalganj on road to visit the spots at 3.58pm.
She and others stayed for around 40 minutes at the land and jute godown bought in the name of her mother Begum Fazilatunnesa Mujib.
Later, the premier also paid a visit to the house of her late paternal uncle Sheikh Abu Naser where Bangabandhu used to stay.
Sheikh Hasina’s paternal cousin and also lawmaker Sheikh Helal Uddin, lawmaker Sheikh Salahuddin Jewel, Khulna City Corporation Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque and senior leaders of the party welcomed at the Abu Naser’s house.

She left Khulna for Dhaka after saying the Maghrib namaz at the house.
AL leaders and locals said Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman bought a jute godown and a one-room house built on 1.44 acre of land in the name of his wife Fazilatunnesa nearby the Bhairab River in Nagarghat area during the Pakistan regime.
Sheikh Hasina knew about the land through her lawyers in 2007.
A rest house was built on the land by demolishing the old establishments in 2020.
On the occasion of the arrival of the premier, movement of water transports remained suspended in the Rupsa and Bhairab rivers since Thursday night as part of tight security measures was taken in the district.
