Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday urged all to remain alert so that no one can thwart the next general election or make it a questionable one.
"The election is imminent. All need to stay alert so that no one can thwart the polls or make it a questionable one," she said while addressing a community reception here in Brussels.
The premier joined the reception at an arts theatre 'Espace Lumen' through a virtual platform from her place of residence.
Bangladeshi expatriates residing in Belgium and different European countries took part in the event organised by the Belgium Chapter of Bangladesh Awami League.

The PM asked the Awami League leaders and activists to raise the massive development success and achievements Bangladesh attained in the last 15 years before the people and not to pay heed to the propaganda being launched against the government ahead of the next general election.
"Since the election is upcoming, raise the last 15 years of development works of Bangladesh before the people. Don’t pay heed to propaganda," she said.
She asked all concerned to make sure none of the killers and terrorists can play ducks and drakes with the fate of the people anymore.
Sheikh Hasina issued a note of strong warning that none who engages in arson violence would be spared.

"If they engage in arson violence again, not a single person will be spared," she said referring to the violence unleashed by BNP-Jamaat in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
The prime minister asked the Bangladeshi expatriates to send remittance through the banking channels as the government now provides 5 percent incentives on remittance inflow.
She said that the people got the country's independence and development by casting votes for Awami League.
"So, cast vote for the Awami League for the sake of the continuation of the country's development spree," she said.
The PM also asked the expatriates to seek votes for 'boat' symbol while talking to the people living in Bangladesh.
She said Bangladesh has been transformed into a developing country by Awami League government.
"We have made huge development of Bangladesh due to sincerity, specific plans and execution of the plans accordingly," she said.
The premier questioned what the BNP-Jamaat and other governments did for the development of Bangladesh in 29 years from 1975-1996 and 2001-2009.
"The 29 years were the time of darkness and sufferings of the people," she said.
"Bangladesh has no future at their hands and they don't care about the people of Bangladesh," she said.
The Prime Minister has recalled the contribution of the expatriate Bangladeshis to all the struggles that included the historic six-point demand and the Liberation War of 1971.
She said the poverty rate declined to 18.7 percent from 41 percent in 2006, while the extreme poverty rate to 5.6 percent from 25.1 percent.
She said there would be no hardcore poor in Bangladesh as the government has taken necessary measures to eliminate the extreme poor.
The PM said her government has been working tirelessly to transform Bangladesh into a Smart Bangladesh by 2041.
