He came up with the remarks after visiting Rohingya camps at Balukhali and Kutupalong in Ukhiya and at Tumbru of Naikkhongchhari upazila in Bandarban district at noon.
The Singaporean minister talked to Rohingyas and children at the Rohingya camps.
He also lauded and thanked Bangladesh for showing highest gesture of humanity by giving shelter to such a large number of Rohingya people.
Earlier, a seven-member team, led by Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, arrived here around 12 noon while Foreign Minister AH Mahood Ali, Abul Kalam, relief and refugee repatriation commissioner (RRRC), and officials of different international organisations were present.
In the morning, Dr Vivian met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at Ganobhaban in the capital when he underscored the need for speedy repatriation of Rohingya people from Bangladesh.
The Singaporean minister appreciated the move to start the repatriation process of the Rohingyas and put emphasis on ensuring security after their return to their homeland.
