Scrutinizing video footage of the horrifying incident, police arrested the three suspects-- Kamal, Abul Kalam Azad and Wasim from Badda area on Monday night, said Officer-in-charge of Badda police station Rafiqul Islam.
With the arrest of the three suspects, the number of arrests in the case rose to seven, said the OC.
Earlier on Sunday night, Police arrested four suspects—Md Bacchu Mia, 28, MD Bappi, 21, Jafar Hossain, 18, and MD Shaheen, 31, from Badda area. Among them, a Magistrate of Dhaka CMM court recorded confessional statement of Jafar on Monday, while granting four days police remand for three others.
On Saturday, Taslima Begum went to Uttar Badda Govt Primary School to collect information about her daughter’s admission there.
She was taken to the head teacher of the school for interrogation while a rumour spread outside that a child-lifter had been held. Later she was dragged out of the school by a mob and then beaten mercilessly.
On information, police rescued critically injured Taslima and took her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead.
Taslima hailed from Raipur upazila in Laxmipur and was living with her daughter and mother in the capital. She was separated from her husband two years back. Taslima has an 11-year-old son who has been living with his father in the Badda area.
