Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Suman resigned from the post of prosecutor of the International Crimes Tribunal on Thursday.
He sent the resignation letter to the chief prosecutor of the tribunal which was formed to try crimes against humanity.
“I am failing to give time to the International Crimes Tribunal as I am engaged in various social and voluntary activities in recent times. In this circumstance, I find it unethical to draw salary from the government treasury. That’s why I am seeking exemption from the post,” the letter read.
He joined the tribunal on November 13, 2012 and handled different cases during the tenure, he mentioned.
