Bangladesh is a shining example of communal harmony and peaceful co-existence of people of different faiths has played a significant role in development of the country, BGMEA president Faruque Hassan said Sunday.
People of different religions and beliefs have been living alongside each other in peace and making efforts for the development of the country, he said.
The BGMEA President made the remarks while visiting Kantajew Temple at Kantanagar in Dinajpur on Saturday.
Faruque Hassan handed over a cheque of Tk. 5 lac to the temple as donation.
He also distributed 500 blankets among the disadvantaged people of the area, and urged affluent sections of society to come forward and assist people in need of warm clothes during the winter season.
Manoranjan Shill Gopal, MP and Director of Giant Group Sharmeen Hassan Tithi were also present on the occasion.
