A special iftar and doa mahfil organised by the leading English daily Daily Industry was held in the capital on Sunday.
The programme was chaired by the newspaper’s Editor Dr Enayet Karim and attended by a number of prominent personalities from the banking sector, media, business community and academia.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Enayet Karim said such gatherings help strengthen bonds among professionals from different sectors. “Ramadan teaches us the values of compassion, unity and responsibility. We hope this platform will further strengthen cooperation among journalists, business leaders and the wider community for the country’s development,” he said.
Among those present were A K Mizanur Rahman, Director of NRB Bank; Abu Bakkar Siddique Sohel, General Secretary of Barishal Zila Samity; Yunus Sohag, General Secretary of Bangladesh Sangbadpatra Shilpa Parishad; Mirza Mozammel Hossain, Vice-President of Barishal Metropolitan Chamber; Prof Moniruzzaman Shaheen, Inspector of the National University; and Riazur Rahman, President of the Secretariat Journalists Association.
The event brought together journalists, professionals and guests from different sectors who joined the iftar and took part in a special prayer seeking peace, prosperity and continued progress of the country.
Participants exchanged greetings and highlighted the importance of unity, cooperation and responsible journalism in strengthening democratic values and national development.
