On April 6, the Ministry of Religious Affairs asked the Muslim devotees to avoid mosques and offer prayers at home, to contain transmission of the fast-spreading coronavirus or COVID-19.
Later, the authorities urged people not to attend Tarabi prayers during the Holy Ramadan.
Around a month later, it allowed offering prayers at mosques on Wednesday on condition of maintaining safe distance and proper hygiene.

Thanks to the decision, the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque and other mosques hosted Jummah prayer on Friday, abiding by the recommended healthcare conditions.
