HC seeks DU report on milk
Dhaka, June 30 (UNB) – The High Court on Sunday sought the report of Dhaka University’s Pharmacy Faculty and Centre for Biomedical Research that had found presence of detergent and antibiotics in pasteurised milk produced by five companies.
Five days on: Rifat’s main killers still at large
Barguna, June 30 (UNB) - Although five days have elapsed since the brutal murder of young man Rifat Sharif, police could not yet arrest any of the main killers.
Six people have so far been arrested over the killing. However, only two of them -– Chandan and Mohammad Hasan -- are FIR-named accused.
Of the other arrestees, Nazmul was picked up after scrutinising the surveillance footage of the murder while police did not reveal anything about the rest three.
Police said they were arrested as suspects.
Meanwhile, locals alleged that law enforcers were making arrests without specific allegations to deal with the pressure they were facing from different quarters.
