Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) on Tuesday forecast light to moderate rain, thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind for a few places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions.
It also forecast moderately heavy falls at places over the country in the next 24 hours commencing from 6pm, said the regular weather bulletin.
About the synoptic situation, the BMd said the axis of monsoon trough was running through Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across the central part of Bangladesh. One of its associated troughs was extending up to North Bay.
Besides, the monsoon was fairly active over Bangladesh and weak to moderate over North Bay.
Day temperature may rise by 1-3°C while night temperature may fall slightly over the country.
The sun rises at 5:41am in the capital on Wednesday.
