Dhaka, Jan 17 (UNB) – An awareness raising meeting on conservation of Bengal fox in their natural habitat was held in Dinajpur sadar upazila on Thursday.
Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Dinajpur Md. Abdur Rahman arranged the programme in collaboration with Wild Team “Boot Camp” training program winner Meherun Niger Mou, said a press release .
Ramsagar NP Curator Abdus Salam Tuhin, Kaharol forest Range officer Mrshoriful Islam and some local people attended the programme.
Meherun Niger Sultana, project head of Bengal fox project and conservationist, shared her knowledge on the importance and usefulness of Bengal fox.
Local people showed their enthusiasm to know about this little creature and also shared their practical experiences.
Mdabdur Rahman assured the locals to provide them with compensation from a government scheme in case of any damage caused by Bengal fox in their area.
