The Prime Minister will to attend the Dubai Air Show-2019 at the invitation of Vice President, Prime Minister, Ministry of Defence, and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashed al Maktoum and other programmes.
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen briefed reporters at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday about the Prime Minister’s visit to the UAE(United Arab Emirates).
He said one of the bilateral cooperation documents will be signed between Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) and Emirates Development Authority whilethe second one between Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority (BEZA) and Emirates Economic Zone Authority.
A protocol is also expected to be signed on land allotment for Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
On behalf of the Bangladesh government, DrMomen is expected to sign the protocol on land allotment and other programmes.
“Taking into account the excellent bilateral relations between Bangladesh and the UAE, the Prime Minister’s visit to UAE bears a lot of significance,” said the Foreign Minister.
He said it is expected that the visit will have a positive impact on UAE investment in Bangladesh in different sectors and will help enhance cooperation between the two investment authorities.
During her visit to the UAE, the Prime Minister is expected to meet Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashed al Maktoum, Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Sheikh Fatima Bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, UAE.
The Prime Minister will be accompanied by the Foreign Minister, Principal Staff Officer, Armed Forces Division, Secretary, Ministry of Defence, Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation and other high officials during the visit.
During the visits, the Prime Minister is also expected to meet big UAE investor groups and business leaders and the people of the UAE.
DP World of UAE showed interest to develop Seaport and related infrastructures in Bangladesh, DrMomen said.
The office of the Royal family member, Sheikh Ahmed Dalmuk al Maktoum has shown interest in different power-related and dredging projects in Bangladesh, he said.
Besides, the Emirates Economic Zone Authority has shown interest to establish cooperation with Bangladesh Economic Zone Authority.
The delegation already visited Bangladesh a couple of times, said the Foreign Minister.
The Prime Minister will inaugurate an NID registration programme of the nonresident Bangladeshis living in the UAE at the Bangladesh Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
DrMomen said the registration facility is expected to benefit the Bangladesh expatriates living in UAE for whom it is difficult to come to Bangladesh for registration purpose as it involves expenditure and time.
He said the Emirates Economic Zone wants to invest in infrastructures and local employment in Bangladesh.
They also want to invest in waste management sector and create a hub in Bangladesh Economic Zone for international exports of Halal products to the gulf countries.
It is also expected that the UAE entrepreneurs and officials of investment authority will meet the Prime Minister.
The Foreign Minister is also expected to meet UAE dignitaries and high officials during the visit.
He is also expected to join a programme on November 19 to inaugurate a training programme by the Bangladesh Consulate General, Dubai jointly organised by Bangladesh Consulate General, Dubai and Bangladesh Association in Sharjah on skill development of Bangladesh’s expatriate workers.
The Bangladesh Consulate General will provide training on language skill development, computer, driving and personality development of the workers on the consulate premises for the Bangladesh expatriate workers.
