Islamic University, Jan 26 (UNB) - An international seminar was held on the campus in Kushtia on ‘Music and performing arts as the exposition of Lalon’s philosophy’ on Saturday.
Islamic University’s English department organised the seminar at Rabindra-Nazrul Arts building.
IU Vice-Chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari attended the seminar as the chief guest while Reina Rodina van dar Meer, a research fellow of University of Humanistic Studies, was the keynote speaker.
IU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor M Shahinoor Rahman spoke as the special guest while Prof M Mamunur Rahman attended as the discussant with IU English department Chairperson Prof Mossammad Salma Sultana in the chair.
The speakers said Lalon’s folksongs and his philosophy have helped Bangladesh become more popular with singers and researchers.
Professor Miah M Rashiduzzaman of the department conducted the seminar attended by two hundred teachers and students.
