The theme of this year's day is: ‘Assistive Technologies, Active Participation’.
The Ministry of Social Welfare will organise a programme at the capital’s Bangabandhu International Conference Centre around 10:30 am on this occasion, according to a press release of the Press Institute Department (PID).
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to inaugurate the program of the day.
Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed will preside over the meeting while Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque will address it as a special guest.
State Minister for Social Welfare Sharif Ahmed, member of the Standing Committee on Ministry of Social Welfare Rashed Khan Menon, the secretary of the ministry Juena Aziz, among others, will also join the function.
Meanwhile, different programs will also be organized to observe the day. Blue lights will be lit outside important government establishments across the country on Tuesday, which will remain lit till on Thursday.
The United Nations General Assembly declared April 2 as the World Autism Awareness Day to highlight the needs for enhanced initiatives of all to improve the lives of children and adults who suffer from the disorder.
