Dhaka, Dec 21 (UNB)- Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) Benazir Ahmed on Friday said poverty alleviation had brought down the common crime rates.
“But new types of crimes, such as financial and cyber, are taking place,” he told the annual general meeting of Crime Reporters Association of Bangladesh (CRAB) at Segunbagicha.
“Crime reporters can highlight these issues,” he said.
The Rab chief also hoped that the upcoming parliamentary election would be peaceful.
DIG of Police Headquarters SM Ruhul Amin, and AIG (Media) Sohel Rana also addressed the function, chaired by CRAB President Abu Saleh Akand.
