These fake Facebook pages have been operating from Vietnam reportedly by Vietnamese national Dong.
People of the country ordered on the page after seeing that flashy advertisement. Then the information was sent from the marketing group of the syndicate in Vietnam to the Bangladeshi people working in the company called 'Unique Shipping Agency' here. From there, Someone rings the customer from the number registered under a fake name, confirms the order and delivers the product to the courier.
Although these low-quality products are brought from Vietnam-China, the products have no legal permission for marketing in Bangladesh, the DB chief said.
During investigation, DB found a company called 'Unique Shipping Agency' in Gulshan of the city. Those who have been selling low-quality products imported from Vietnam and China using the names and pictures of various celebrities and political figures of the country including the health minister.
The top officer of the DB said DB has started working on the fake Facebook ID in view of a case filed by the Health Minister's personal assistant at the Shahbag police station. At one point we see the common man being duped with various flashy advertisements including hair tonics and hair treatments using the name and picture of the health minister.
