A fire that broke out at a high-rise building in the Katabon area of Dhaka on Monday evening, has been brought under control.
The fire broke out around 7:30 pm on the fifth floor of the 9-storey building and spread soon, said Anwarul Islam, warehouse inspector of Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters.
On information, ten firefighting units rushed to the spot and brought the blaze under control around 9:30pm, he added.
Six occupants of the building were evacuated.
However, a firefighter suffered minor injuries. He was sent to the hospital but is out of danger, said the officer.
The cause of the fire and the extent of damage could not be known immediately.
