Islamic University, Oct 14 (UNB) – MA students of the Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia will have to vacate their residential halls within 15 days after their examinations end.
A press release, signed by IU acting Registrar Parvez Miah, was issued in this regard on Monday.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the university’s hall provosts. Vice-Chancellor Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari chaired the meeting.
The university formed a monitoring cell, led by Proctor Professor Paresh Chandra Barman, to monitor the halls to prevent student harassment.
The hall administration will allocate seats against the vacant ones on merit basis. No student can stay in the halls without permission from the administration.
VC Askari told UNB that stern action would be taken if any student is found involved in harassing other students.
