The opening ceremony of "2nd Flagship Training Programme on Regional Integrated Rural Development, Governance, Trade and Sustainable Development in ASIA and the PACIFIC" was held at CIRDAP International Conference Centre on Saturday.
The programme has been organised jointly by Centre on Integrated Rural Development for Asia and the Pacific (CIRDAP) and Bangladesh Academy for Rural Development (BARD)
Local Government and Rural Devopment Minister Md. Tajul Islam, Secretary General of Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Dr. Pornchai Danvivathana, Director General of CIRDAP Dr. Cherdsak Virapat, Director General BARD Md. Harun-or-Rashid Mollah and course director Dr. Somporn Hanpongpandh were present.
"In the last 15 years many projects have been taken to develop the infrastructure of Bangladesh. Bangladesh will not be left behind anymore," Md Tajul Islam said.
The event will continue November 27. A total 24 participants from Bangladesh, Fiji, India, Indonesia, Iran, Lao, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Ghana and Mauritius are attending this training programme.
The three modules of this training are Integrated Rural Development Framework, Trade, Sustainable Development & Multi- lateral treaties on Environmental Legal Issues, Adaptive Management in Rural Development in Asia and the Pacific Region and Policy Formulation and Comprehensive Implementation.
35 Renowned International and local Lecturers specialized in IRD sector from Bangladesh, Thailand, India, Norway, Canada and Pakistan will take the class in both Physical and online mode. The course will be directed by Dr. Somporn Hanpongpandh.
