Awami League candidates Abul Hasanat Abdullah and Rashed Khan Menon have been elected in the 12th parliamentary elections from Barishal-1 and Barishal-2 constituencies respectively.
In Barishal-1, Abul Hasanat Abdullah from boat symbol secured 1,73,973 votes where his nearest rival Sekandar Serniabat got 4,108 votes.
In Barishal-2, Rashed Khan Menon got 1,22, 175 votes where Fiazul Haque Razu from ‘Eagle’ symbol secured 31,397 votes.
Among the others constituencies of Barishal district, Golam Kibria Tipu from Jatiya Party was elected in Barishal-3 with 52, 557, Pankaj Debnath of ‘Eagle’ symbol won in Barishal-4 with 1,61, 005 votes, Jahid Faruk of ‘boat’ symbol from Barishal-5, and Hafiz Mallik from Awami League in Barishal-6.
