Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen on Wednesday said that the Awami League government established Bangladesh as a developing and democratic country in the world.
The Awami League-nominated candidate for Sylhet-1 constituency said this at a public rally held at Ward No. 5 of Sylhet city in the evening.
The foreign minister said that Bangladesh achieved the independence at the cost of millions of lives under the leadership of Bangabandhu and the Awami League. Sheikh Hasina will never sell this country as long as she lives.
He said the present government developed roads, railways, airports, hospitals and educational institutions in Sylhet. Many other projects have already been taken to upgrade civic amenities in Sylhet city.
The foreign minister urged the voters to vote for 'Boat' on January 7 to ensure the country's welfare, progress and development.
Awami League leader Nurul Islam presided over the meeting while Sylhet City Awami League Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Syed Apter Hossain Piar, City Awami League Liberation War Affairs Secretary Juber Khan, Syed Mahmudur Rahman, Shakil Talukder, Ripon Hawlader and many others spoke on the occasion.
