A private car was set on fire by unidentified miscreants in Dhaka’s Nilkhet road of New Market area on Sunday amid the countrywide 48-hour blockade enforced by BNP, Jamaat and like-minded opposition parties.
The incident took place around 10.15 pm and two firefighting units from Palashi Barrack Fire Station rushed to the spot around 10:21pm, said Tanha Bin Zasim, station officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Control Room (media cell).
No casualties were reported.
Another Chattogram town service minibus was set on fire by unidentified miscreants in Bayezid’s Oxygen area of Chattogram city on Sunday night.
The incident took place around 10.25pm and two firefighting units rushed to the spot around 10:30pm, said Tanha Bin Zasim, station officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Control Room (media cell).
A total of 12 arson incidents were reported across the country from 7 pm on Saturday to 6:30 am on Sunday, Fire Service said.
Of these, 7 arson incidents were reported in Dhaka city.
