The overall number of global Covid-19 cases is gradually nearing 692 million.
According to the latest global data, the total Covid-19 case count is 691,684,315, while the death toll reached 6,899,861 this morning (July 18, 2023).
The US has reported 107,397,990 Covid-19 cases so far, while 1,168,914 people have died from the virus in the country — both highest counts globally.
India recorded 43 new Covid-19 infections in a day while the tally of active cases has increased to 1,441 from 1,432 a day ago, according to Health Ministry data updated on Monday. The death toll has been recorded at 5,31,915.
France and Germany have registered 40,138,560 and 38,428,685 Covid-19 cases so far, occupying the third and fourth positions in the world number-wise, and 167,642 and 174,352 people have died in the European countries, as per Worldometer.
Covid-19 situation in Bangladesh
Bangladesh reported one more Covid-19-linked death and 80 fresh cases in 24 hours till Monday morning.
With the new numbers, the country's total fatalities rose to 29,465 and caseload to 2,043,657, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The daily case test positivity rate stood at 4.16 percent as 1,925 samples were tested.
