One of the arrestees was identified as Bangladesh Ju-jitsu Association General Secretary Md. Rafiqul Islam Newton, but the elite force did not disclose the name of the other, female arrestee. Arrested Rafiqul used to physically abuse the victim on various pretexts during the training session. Later, while the victim was changing clothes in the changing room after practice, the arrested female player reportedly locked the victim in the room and called the arrested Rafiqul Islam.

Then he entered the room and forcibly raped the victim. Later, the arrested female player entered the room and took nude photos of the victim on her mobile phone and threatened to spread the nude photos of the victim on social media if she disclosed it to anyone.
