A 32-year-old police officer of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) traffic division died from dengue at Evercare Hospital of Chattogram on Monday.
The deceased was identified as Emadul Hossain, 32, resident of Barabkunda area of Sitakunda upazila.

Spina Rani Pramanik, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of Media and Public Relations Division of CMP said Emadul was sent to Chattogram Divisional Police Hospital for treatment on August 18 after he felt unwell. On August 19, he was reported dengue positive.
Later, on August 20, the officer was admitted to Evercare Hospital in the city after his condition deteriorated. He died on Monday afternoon while undergoing treatment there.
