The newly appointed ambassador of Spain to Bangladesh Gabriel Maria Sistiaga Ochoa de Chinchetru on Tuesday presented credentials to President Mohammed Shahabuddin at Bangabhaban.
President's press secretary Joynal Abedin briefed the reporters after the presenration.
Welcoming the new ambassador, President Shahabuddin said that the existing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Spain are very good and progressing.
Mentioning Spain as one of the export destinations of Bangladesh, he praised Spanish investment in Bangladesh and urged investors from the European country to invest in Bangladesh, including in Special Economic Zones.
The president expressed hope that the mutual relations between the two countries will increase during the tenure of the new ambassador.
The envoy said that the development and progress of Bangladesh is very commendable. At this time, the ambassador said that efforts will be continued to further develop the existing bilateral relations between Spain and Bangladesh.
He sought the co-operation of the president in discharging his duties during his tenure.

On arrival at Bangabhaban in the morning, a smart contingent of the Presidential Guard Regiment presented a guard of honor to the ambassador.
