On the first day, 144 people were granted bail.
Court operation remained suspended to curb coronavirus transmission since March 26. Later, the trial proceedings through videoconference begun on Monday.
The High Court on Sunday formed three separate benches for hearing urgent cases virtually during the ongoing holidays and directed the subordinate court concerned to hear cases related to emergency bail.
An ordinance was promulgated on Sunday allowing courts to run trial proceedings through videoconference and other digital facilities. President Abdul Hamid promulgated the ordinance.
Later, the Law Ministry issued a gazette notification, saying that it will take immediate effect.
