A 12-year-old boy died on Sunday falling from the rooftop of an under construction five-storeyed building in the city's Demra staff quarter area while flying a kite.
The deceased was identified as Md Kawsar Ali,12, son of Ahmod Ali, security guard of the building.
The incident occurred near Bamoin Paiti area around 10 am.
Kawsar with his brother Omar Faruq,6, went to fly a kite at the rooftop where dhe slipped his leg and fell down through the open space for installing lift, said Ahmod Ali, Kawsar’s father.
He was rushed to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital in a critical condition where the doctors announced him dead.

The body was sent for an autopsy, said Bacchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH police outpost.
