Dhaka, Mar 9 (UNB) – A total of 17,208 employees of different offices under the Land Ministry submitted their wealth statements as per the instruction of the land minister.
Out of 17,576, some 368 employees could not submit their statements as they were suspended over departmental cases and were on long-term vacations, said Md Abdullah Al Nahian, public relations officer of the ministry.
“Such activities will continue from now on and the land offices will eventually be made corruption-free through regular monitoring,” said Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury.
Earlier on January 12, the land minister had made an announcement about the wealth statement of the land ministry employees in a meeting with journalists at Chattogram Press Club.
