With these, a total of 1,136 new books have been released in this year’s Ekushey book fair so far, said the Bangla Academy.
Of the new books, 18 are novels, 67 poetry volumes, 27 stories and 15 essays.
The books on research (3), rhyme (5), children literature (1), biography (10), Liberation War (2), science (2), travelogue (3), history (6), medicine and health (2), Bangabandhu (2), science fiction (1) and others (15) have also been published on Monday.
Publishers from across the country are exhibiting a huge number of books on different issues while Bangla Academy is exhibiting 104 newly printed and reprinted books this year.
This year, the land earmarked for the fair was expanded to 800,000 sq ft. A total of 873 units were allocated to 560 organisations.
Authorities allotted 179 units at the Bangla Academy ground to 126 organisatons and 694 at the Suhrawardy Udyan to 694 organisations.
The fair remains open from 3pm to 9pm on weekdays and from 11am to 9 pm on weekends and it remain open from 8am to 9pm on February 21 when the International Mother Language Day will be celebrated.
