Two people were killed in separate road accidents in Sylhet and Chandpur district on Tuesday.
A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a pickup truck on Sylhet-Tamabil road in Jaintapur upazila of the district.
The incident took place in front of Shahjalal College gate of Chiknagul union around 8:15 pm .
The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately.
Jaintapur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Tajul Islam said a man died after being hit by a pickup. The highway police have been informed that they are going to the spot.
In Chandpur, a brick kiln worker named Manik Mia, 40, was killed after being hit by a BRTC passenger bus in Kachua.
He used to work as a labourer in the local brick kiln.
The accident took place on the road adjacent to Selim's shop in East Kalcho Bhuiyan Bari of Kachua upazila on Tuesday afternoon.
Kachua Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mizanur Rahman said the deceased was a resident of Nogal village in Derai upazila of Sunamganj.
Locals said the Dhaka-bound BRTC bus from Hajiganj hit him while he was crossing the road . Later, locals rescued and rushed him to Kachua Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.
