State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Begum Rumana Ali on Sunday said some 238,579 teachers have been appointed for primary schools in the last 12 years.
The State Minister gave this information while responding to the tabled question of ruling party MP elected from Chattogram M Abdul Latif.
The State Minister of Primary and Mass Education said that of the total number, 5,205 were appointed as headmasters and 233,374 as assistant teachers.
At present, the jobs of 104,875 private and registered primary school teachers have been nationalised.
In response of Awami League MP elected from Chapainawabganj Dr. Samil Uddin Ahmed Shimul, the State Minister said under the social security program, the number of beneficiaries in the country in the financial year 2023-24 has been increased by 1 lakh persons while the number of widows and husband distressed allowance and disability allowance increased by 535,000 persons.
