Benapole, Nov 12 (UNB) - Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) detained 24 people, including women and children, while being trafficked to India through Putkhali border on Monday.
21 BGB Battalion Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Imran Ullah Sarkar said tipped off a team of BGB detained them in the morning while the traffickers managed to flee.
The detainees hail from different places in Khulna, Faridpur and Bagerhat districts, he said.
The detained women and children were handed over to Benapole port police.
