Three Chhatra League leaders from Lohagara in Chattogram have been expelled for Facebook posts expressing grief over the death of war criminal Delawar Hossain Sayeedi.
The three expelled leaders are Upazila Chhatra League vice-presidents Gazi Amjad and Md Tausif and deputy office secretary Abdullah Al Masum.
The information was given in a press release signed by Lohagara Upazila Chhatra League President AK M Asifur Rahman Chowdhury and General Secretary Ershadur Rahman Riyad on Wednesday.
Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) is an organisation formed by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. There is no place for anyone to forget the principles of this organization and suffer moral degradation. In recent times, three people from the upazila have been acquitted for their alleged involvement in anti-ideology and anti-organisation activities, said the release.
The three upazila chhatra league leaders have been discharged for their alleged involvement in anti-organisation activities. Besides, it has been recommended to the South District Chhatra League to expel them permanently, said Asifur.
