At least four arson attacks were recorded in 24 hours till 6 am today, amid the 36-hour blockade called by BNP and like-minded parties.

Of these, two vehicles were set on fire in Dhaka city, two each in Magura and Rajshahi districts, , said Shahjahan Shikdar, deputy director of Fire Service and Civil Defence Media Cell.
Seven firefighting units and 35 members of the fire service were engaged in dousing the flames.

So far, 274 vehicles and 15 establishments have been set on fire during the blockades and hartal from October 28 to December 12, according to fire service headquarters.
