The arrestees were identified as Nizam Uddin, Raihan Bhuiyan, Hanif Uddin Sumon, Sheikh Iftekharul Islam alias Arif and Mufti Muslim Uddin alais Muslim.
Tipped off, a team of CTTC unit conducted a drive at Balur Math in the area and arrested them along with three sharp weapons, three bags and four smart phones in the night, said joint police commissioner of CTTC (DMP) Elias Sharif while briefing press at the DMP media centre on Monday.
After primary interrogation, the arrestees said they gathered at a designated place from different parts of the country for carrying out acts of sabotage and they became the members of the militant outfit through the social networking site and online, he said.
They also collected money through social networking site, telegram, online chat group and online cryptocurrency for their organisation, said Elias Sharif.
The arrestees were also involved in planning to attack ISKON temple and other establishments of ISKON, he added.
A case was filed with Sabujbagh Police Station under Anti -Terrorism Act.
