Nine people were injured in a generator explosion at a CNG filling station in Sylhet's Mirabazar area.
Two of them are reported to be in critical condition.

Five of the injured are employees of the CNG pump. The other four are pedestrians.
The injured were identified as Ripon, 34; Lutfur, 32; Rumel, 28, Minhaj, 27, Badal Das, 42; Rasimal, 18, Ruman, 23, Tarek, 30, and Muhin, 45.
They were taken to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital, said Mohammad Ali Mahmud, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.

According to eyewitnesses, the generator at the Biroti Filling Station suddenly exploded at around 7:00 pm on Tuesday, resulting in a fire and injuring nine people.
Upon receiving information, firefighters arrived at the scene and doused the blaze after an hour of effort.

Md Belal Hossain, senior station officer of the Sylhet Fire Service, said there was a lack of fire safety at the pump. Initially, the explosion appeared to have been caused by the weakness of the gas valve.
