Additional Commissioner of Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP) Paritosh Ghosh disclosed this at a press conference at the SMP office on Wednesday afternoon.
He said police will submit a charge-sheet before the court on Thursday under sections 8, 11, 12 and 13 of the Anti-terrorism Act.
The others to be charge-sheeted are Faizul’s father Hafez Maulana Atiqur Rahman, mother Minara Begum, brother Enamul Hasan, maternal uncle Md Fazlur Rahman and friend Sohagh Miah, Paritosh said.
He also said Faizul had planned to kill Prof Zafar Iqbal 3-4 months back and had been looking for chance to kill him.
Faizul swooped on Prof Zafar Iqbal and stabbed him with a knife at the SUST Mukta Mancha during a celebration programme, 'Robofight,' of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE) department on March 3 last.
