Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md. Shahab Uddin on Friday called on all to refrain from abrupt honking of horns everywhere.
“We don’t make sound pollution when driving in cantonment areas or foreign countries. But we honked again after crossing the cantonment. We need to come out of this habit,” he said.
The minister said this while speaking at the inauguration program of the expansion of Moulvibazar District Scout Building as the chief guest.

Shahab Uddin said there will be a minute's silence in the capital on October 15 at 10 am to raise awareness about noise pollution.
Dhaka will be noise pollution-free for a minute, he added.

The environment minister said we need to make the country noise pollution-less to build a Smart Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
We all have to be more aware of this, he added.
