At least 16 youths, who were duped by a broker of Golapganj in Sylhet, came to Facebook Live and threatened to commit suicide.
The broker Jahir Uddin had taken money from the youths promising to send them to various countries of Europe.
They made the threat at a protest meeting held at Asirganj Bazar in the Golapganj upazila on Friday evening.

Speaking at the meeting, three duped youths Abdus Salam, Kamran Hossain and Alfas Ahmed said that Zahir Uddin, son of late Rafiq Uddin of Amkona village, had taken more than Tk 6-7 lakh from 16 each for the cost of sending them to different countries of Europe and Canada.
But then Zahir Uddin went missing with the money.
They said Zahir's uncle Noor Uddin is harassing them (duped youths) and their relatives by filing a case on false charges for demanding money.
In their speech, they also said that they will have nothing to do but commit suicide if the money cannot be recovered from Zahir.
“If we do not return the money by November 26, we will come to Facebook Live and choose to commit suicide in front of everyone,” they said.
