Minister passed the remarks while speaking at a seminar organized by National Academy for Autism and Neuro-developmental Disability (NDD) Project on sustainable development of autistic and NDD students.
All the autistic children will eventually be brought under mainstream education, she added.
Dr Dipu also said the teachers should be enlightened first because many of them lack the skills to handle autistic children’s special needs.
The government has trained over 30,000 teachers on autism, she added.
Dr Syed Md Golam Faruk, director general, Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education director general presided over the seminar where the Directorate’s senior secretary Sohrab Hossain, additional secretary Dr Aruna Biswas, NAAND project director Prof Didarul Alam were present.
