Bangladesh Ambassador to South Korea Abida Islam has presented a vivid picture of the rich and diverse culture of Bangladesh while speaking before Korean students.
She gave an elaborated lecture titled ‘The Culture of Bangladesh’ to a group of Korean students from Dong-Ah Institute of Media and Arts organized by the Multiculture Museum in Seoul on Friday.

During her address, Ambassador Abida Islam elaborated the tradition and heritage of Bangladesh, including Bengali language and literature, religion and ideology, archeological sites and architecture, art, folk culture, various festivals, handicrafts and paintings, clothing and costumes, food and cooking arts.
She also highlighted the cultural similarities between Bangladesh and South Korea.
A video on the similarities between Bangladesh's Language Martyrs' Day and South Korea’s ‘Hangul Day’ and another video on preparing 'Sandesh'- a sweetmeat of Bangladesh were screened on the occasion.
During the presentation, the Ambassador focused on the political philosophy of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, including the meaning of the concept ‘Sonar Bangla’.

She presented the students with the Korean version of the book "Bangabandhu The People's Hero" and hoped that through this book they will be able to learn about the political ideology of the Father of the Nation of Bangladesh and his political contributions.
