Information and Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud on Wednesday said that Bangladesh is an example of free press in the developing countries.
“Since the media guides the state, society and people, it has to be responsible… Bangladesh is an example of free press in developing countries,” he said.
The minister said this while speaking at the inauguration of 'The Daily People's Life' newspaper at The Samson H Chowdhury Centre of the Dhaka Club Ltd at Shahbagh in the capital on Wednesday evening.
Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Hasan Mahmud and the minister's wife Nooran Fatema cut a cake on the occasion.

Hasan Mahmud stressed the importance of media freedom as well as responsibility. The minister expressed hope that the Daily People's Life newspaper would play a responsible role.
Speaker Chaudhury has expressed hope that 'The Daily People's Life' newspaper will talk about the people and become a daily reflection of the people’s life.
