A local Juba Dal leader died of cardiac arrest while attending the party's divisional rally in Rangpur city on Saturday.
Mostafizur Rahman, 45, joint convener of Kaharol upazila Jubo Dal in Dinajpur, died at the scene, said Shamsuzzaman Shamu, president of Rangpur Mohanagar BNP.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir also announced that one of their leaders died after suffering from the cardiac arrest.
As part of the BNP's planned rallies at the division level, the Rangpur city unit BNP organised the programme on Rangpur Collector Eidgah ground.
Thousands of leaders and activists of the BNP and its associate bodies joined the rally, defying a transport strike.
