The body of a vegetable trader was recovered from outside his house early Thursday. The incident happened at Chandpur Mohalla of Birampur municipality under Dinajpur district.
The deceased was Habibur Rahman (43), a resident of ward 7 under the municipality.

According to family members, Habibur returned home last night. After having dinner with his family, at around midnight, he left home as per his usual routine. The family found his dead body this morning; the throat of the body was slit.

Subrata Kumar Sarkar, officer-in-charge of Birampur Police Station, said the body has been sent to M Abdur Rahim Medical College in Dinajpur for an autopsy.

The police are currently in the early stages of their investigation and have not yet determined the motive or identified any suspects, said the OC.
