Dhaka Sarak Paribahan Malik Samity has decided to run buses and minibuses on Dhaka city and inter-district routes during Sunday's hartal called by BNP-Jamaat.
The decision was taken in a meeting held with the leaders of the association, transport companies, and workers' leaders about the hartal called by BNP-Jamaat, said a press release signed by Dhaka Sarak Paribahan Malik Samity office secretary Samdani Khandaker.
The leaders urged the owners of the association or company to keep the movement of vehicles normal on all routes.
The owners and workers will never respond to the "anti-people" strike, the press release said.
They said that they rejected the strike call “with hatred.”
On Saturday, the BNP announced a dawn-to-dusk hartal across the country to protest against “police attacks” on their leaders and activists and their grand rally at Nayapaltan.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the hartal before leaving the rally stage amid clashes between law enforcers and the BNP leaders and activists.
He said hartal will be observed from 6 am to 6 pm on Sunday.
