The Cabinet on Monday sent back the draft of the National Adaptation Plan (2023-2050) asking the ministry concerned to further modify it, said the Cabinet secretary.
The plan, placed by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, incorporated 90 high priorities and 23 medium priorities to address the climate changes.
The meeting approved the draft of a bilateral agreement over direct flight operation between Bangladesh and Brunei.
The Cabinet also approved a proposal for joining the Global Methane Pledge, which was placed by the Foreign Ministry.
So far, 50 countries have already signed the pledge, said Cabinet Secretary Anwarul Islam.
The Global Methane Pledge is a commitment to take voluntary actions to contribute to a collective effort to reduce global methane emissions at least 30 per cent from 2020 levels by 2030, which could eliminate over 0.2˚C warming by 2050.
Methane is a powerful but short-lived climate pollutant that accounts for about half of the net rise in global average temperature since the pre-industrial era.
