With the rising trend of dengue fever all over the country, Chandpur reported the district’s first death of the current season on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Md Nasiruddin Palash, 35, son of late Abu Taher of Taragarh village of Chandpur's Hajiganj upazila.

He died while undergoing treatment at Cumilla Medical College Hospital around 3 pm on Saturday (July 22), family sources said.
Palash was suffering from dengue for the past few days.
Confirming the death, Medical Officer of the District Civil Surgeon's Office, Dr Sakhawat Hossain, said 30 new dengue patients were admitted to 7 upazila health complexes today.

According to the Hajiganj Upazila Health Complex, 7 dengue patients are receiving treatment with the viral fever.
A total of 94 patients were admitted with dengue in 7 upazila complexes of the district, including 40 people in the Sadar hospital.
